Oregon Counties provide a wide range of services to all Oregonians in the areas of:

·        Economic Development

·        Health and Community Services

·        Land Use

·        Natural Resources and Recreation

·        Public Safety

·        Transportation

·        And more

Many of these services are provided on behalf of the State of Oregon.  Oregon is a large and diverse state.  Ideally, by bringing the delivery system for state programs to the county level, local governments are able to respond to the unique needs of their local communities.  AOC continues to work with the State in an attempt to fully realize the potential of local government flexibility in implementing state programs.
