MCMINNVILLE COUMMUNITY CENTER, YAMHILL COUNTY

Attendees: Steve Thornton, Clatsop; Carl Clinton, Clackamas; Gary DeJarnatt, Jefferson; Dan Linscheid, Yamhill; Chuck Gibbs, Linn; Mike Jackson, Lane; Randy Johnston, Hood River; Mark Riggins, Marion; Bob Hovden, Multnomah; Tom Hamilton, Lincoln; Dan McNutt, Tillamook; Eathan Nicely, Lincoln; Linda Rigutto, Washington; Joe Jensen; Tillamook; Jim Elam, Washington

Meeting was called to order by President Gary DeJarnatt at about 9:50 am.

Minutes of February 28th meeting were approved as amended.

Chuck Gibbs went over topics for the spring conference.  Ideas from the group gave us nearly a full program.  Please let Chuck Gibbs know if you have any ideas.

Randy Johnston volunteered to prepare the next version of the County Surveyor questionnaire, if Chuck Pearson will give him the format/original document.

Dan Linscheid is in his last term (thru 2010?) as Yamhill County Surveyor; do to term limits in Yamhill County.  The Yamhill County Commission could take steps so Dan could continue.

Mike Jackson presented a letter from a father/son survey team that was looking for work under a PLS.  The group thought that this was OK, as long as they weren’t advertising as providing surveying services.

Tom Hamilton brought up an issue of questionable survey practices by a surveyor.  Most said that since this was only a survey, they would file the surveys after redline comments were made.

Right of entry law was discussed.  Most felt that existing law was good.

Jim Elam handed out a memo to Washington County Uniform Road Improvement Design Standards from the Washington County Engineer regarding a note that needs to be on plans regarding monument clearance per ORS 92.044(7).

Randy Johnston stated that he and Dan Boldt were budgeting for Real Time network control stations for their areas.

Chuck Gibbs brought up a new property line adjustment survey in an old plat, which didn’t show the old lot lines.  Most said that they should be added (dashed if within the property).

Meeting adjourned at about 12:40 pm.
